Nope, no dependencies. If you don't have internet connectivity before the screenlet polls weather.com then there might be a delay. Just hit refresh. Does the black background of the screenlet get displayed, is it only the images that are not showing up? Have you tried running it in a terminal? What sort of warnings or errors are you getting? Talk to me.

i get a black window, nothing else

I've the same result! :S
I love the concept, but it is a shame it doesn't work :(

I had the same issue, until I installed the python-imaging package for my distro. Hope that works for you.

I've tryed on Ubuntu 8.04, 9.10 and 10.04 and can't get it work :S

Works fine here.
I do wish it could start un-animated though, as python uses way to much cpu power to animate the map.
Also would be nice to have a drop box to easily change radar sites for different images.
